BNC CODE OF CONDUCT


Players

  • Play for fun and always show respect
  • Abide by the rules of the game
  • The most important goal is making the most of your abilities
  • Show good sportsmanship and respect your team
  • Be a good sport and cheer all good play
  • Cooperate with your coach and teammates
  • Respect your coach and fellow players
  • Show courtesy to officials, umpires and your opposition.
  • Any issues should be directed in the first instance to your coach/manager.
  • Always accept the rulings of the umpires. If you disagree discuss with your coach who may seek clarification at the conclusion of play


For practices you are expected to:

  • Attend practices and be on time
  • Advise your coach if you won’t be at practice and why
  • Respect and listen to your coach and fully participate in all practices
  • If you have queries/problems these should be raised with your coach at practices
  • If you have queries/problems that you feel you cannot raise with your coach, contact your respective club captain.


For Games you are expected to:

  • Wear correct club uniform
  • Respect umpires’ decisions. If you disagree, have your captain or coach approach the official during a break or after the game
  • Control your temper. It is not acceptable to verbally abuse officials or other players or deliberately contact or provoke an opponent
  • Play to your full ability and respect your coach’s decisions and advice
  • Understand and play by the rules

Coaches

  • Give all players opportunity to participate in the game
  • Lead by example
  • Encourage good sportsmanship
  • Insist on fair play and discipline
  • Be reasonable with the demand on players' time and other commitments
  • Create an enjoyable environment for the players
  • May coach from a stationary position on the sideline by the bench
  • Coaches/managers must, always, respect the decisions of the umpire
  • If you have an issue with the umpiring, you may approach the office and ask for assistance
  • Managers are to respect the decisions of the coach and assist the coach as required


Spectators/Parents


  • Applaud the performance of both teams
  • Respect the decision of the umpires as final
  • All comments from the sideline should be unbiased and positive
  • Spectators may not encroach on the court area during a game and are to support from the sideline not either goal end
  • Lead by example in encouraging their child to respect and listen to their coach before, during and immediately after the game
  • Any queries/problems should be discussed with the coach after the game or at a time convenient for both parties concerned
