January 2026 Newsletter

Kia ora everyone,

Welcome back to another season with Belfast Netball Club!

I hope you’ve all had a great off-season and are looking forward to getting back on court. It’s great to be heading into 2026 with so many familiar faces and a strong club community behind us.

A word from the President

As we head into 2026, my key focus, and the focus of the committee, is our club, our players, and our wider community.

We want Belfast Netball Club to be a place where people feel welcome, supported, and included, no matter their role — whether you’re a player, coach, umpire, volunteer, parent, or supporter. Creating a positive, inclusive culture where everyone can enjoy their netball (on and off the court) is something we take seriously and will continue to build on this season.

Netball should be challenging, fun, and rewarding, and above all, a place people want to be.

Grade format & season planning

There have been a few changes to the 2026 grade structure. We have some new grades entered this season, some changes to grades and changes in what day and where you play. Check out our Website and under 2026 Grade information you will find what you are looking for.

Junior Coaching Feedback Survey (YR 6 - U18, 2025)

This week an email went out to the junior club with a coaching feedback survey. We are inviting junior players and/or parents/caregivers from Yr 6 through to U18 in 2025 to complete a short, anonymous survey about coaching. The purpose of this survey is to help the club better understand what is working well and where we can continue to grow — with a strong focus on player development and coach development.

The feedback gathered will help us:

Support the development and learning of our players

Identify areas where coaches are doing well and where they may need support

Ensure a positive, supportive environment across all junior grades

We would appreciate if you could spare a few minutes of your time to complete this survey as it will help us ensure that going forward, we have the best support in place for both players and coaches.

Looking ahead

There’s a lot to look forward to this season, on court and off. We’re excited about continuing to strengthen our club culture, supporting our volunteers, and making Belfast Netball Club a place people are proud to be part of.

Thank you for being part of our club community. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones as we head into 2026.

See you on the court!

Ngā mihi,

Bex Whitham
